Not a chance you remember her HH!!!!!!! ...... is there?!? Don't laugh, I still count in old money and use a ready reckoner to convert it to this new fangled NEW PENCE malarky, what was so wrong with LSD (£££s, Shilling and pence for the youngsters on here, lol), I quite liked a monetary system that dated back to the Roman times (Libra, Solidus & Denarius), you knew where you stood with 12d to a shilling and 20 shillings to a £ ! That was another thing we did for the bloody Common Market/EU and don't get me started on the poor milkman that were described as a monopoly by the EU bureaucrats and we lost them overnight, I really liked waking up to a fresh pinta on the doorstep in the mornings, it made my cornflakes taste so much better ! So, yeah ! I remember Hilda......and Jimmy Jewel, lol

We still have a milkman and door step deliveries. I left the country in 1970 and all was well with our money. Came back in to Heathrow, Feb’71 and shit couldn’t spend my change.

I should.........SHOULD I say....(c Hylda Baker...let's not get into that again eh? But if you must....) be collecting the M1A1 tomorrow with good luck and a prevailing wind.
Since I knew I was going to be owning one I've read all the info on here and seen countless videos on YT. But......earlier I was watching (on YT) the Top 5 WW2 Replica's and on it the Lady (who looks very much like a female version of the comedian Billy Pearce) showed a Umarex Broomhandled Mauser. I don't want one but the finish on it was out of this word in my opinion. If anyone on here has one or has seen the video in question, do you know how to obtain such a finish please? If I was told she'd dug it out of a field in France I'd have believed it...apart from the handle which looked too nice in comparison. In comparison with the rest of the gun I mean, not the Lady.

Personally I don't like the kicked around a gravel pit look that they consider to be "battle wear" . I would rather apply the wear in the appropriate places. Anyway that is all academic as I don't think Umarex are doing the Broomhandle Mauser anymore. Cheers Don

Here's the video, the broomhandle is at around the 2 minute mark, if you just wanted to skip ahead, lol.. I'm with talyllyn though on this, I've seen better weathered finishes done by some of the members on here if I'm being totally honest.

Anyway, don't get me started on the bloody Mauser ! I feel that Umarex ' dropped the ball' in the design stage with this one. They could have put the CO2 (12g or 8gm, I don't care which size) in the handle and released the first ever shell loading auto handgun onto the market ! How many would Umarex have sold if they had done that ? They would of had to design a new faux 9mm cartridge for it but they could of made it to hold a pellet and had a matching rifled barrel too. Just think about that for a minute, a pellet firing, shell ejecting auto replica ! I would of bought one straight away and how many others would have done the same ? Umarex made a 'boo-boo' there, a missed opportunity to make a boat load of cash ! Shame !

...........she does look like Billy Pearce though....doesn't she............ Yeah, I think she's his love child from the 90's, if I remember correctly after the news of it broke in the press they had to emigrate to escape the ridicule and mocking, lol. She's definitely got his teeth, which she should really give him back as he has trouble eating anything other than jelly without them, lol.

You jest about teeth but you weren't to know. I've just come back from my Granddad's funeral. He put his teeth in back to front and bit his head off.
On a lighter and more topical note..I actually have just come back from somewhere; the very lovely Gun Shop filled with lovely guns and staff; Mcavoy's. Eeeh, I don't half like going there. This time I came out with a gun that's had my name written all over it (well, if I changed my name to Thompson that is) the M1A1. I get Snickers in the deal and everything! I've not fired it yet (the gun, not the Snickers...I've eaten them) because I'm getting it and the 'display' ready for a possible TV appearance but when that's all done and dusted and I finally learn to post pictures, I'll put some on.

I might end up having to go to McAvoys myself for the S&W models 29 & 629 when they finally get released I can't seem to find any RFD that's nearer to me that are getting any stock of them ! (If anybody knows of somewhere nearer to Lincolnshire then please give me a shout and save me from an overpriced 5 hour round trip !)
