Evening RAF, I recently sold my good Umarex Cowboy Rifle that I owned from new to moonbuns on here, and as I was testing that out before sending I was reminded of how much fun these rifles are. Once packaged up and sent, I went to dig another one I purchased from an absolute arsehole over on the AGF - you can read about that one here - co2-handguns.freeforums.net/thread/4072/umarex-cowboy-leaking-co2-woes. Anyway, this one is leaking CO2 from the main valve unit. After opening up and checking everything over including a liberal application of Pelgunoil to all the seals I could find and leaving for several hours, it seems to be leaking from the valve where the copper tube connects to the main valve unit (not the end connected to the CO2 capsule chamber). This was visible as I added CO2 when the gun was opened up and it was pissing Pelgunoil from that valve. I've opened that valve up by removing the copper tube and unscrewing the grub screw that seems to be securing an O-ring and not much else. Has anyone else worked on that part of the main CO2 valve and possibly knows what size O-ring is required? I am going to try and pry it out tomorrow but wondered if anyone else has worked on that part and might have suggestions?

Yes I've been studying the schematic you posted mate, unfortunately the O-ring I am looking for (B-06) isn't available anywhere, or even any info on it. I'll try retrieving the O-ring and sizing manually to swap, but failing everything else there is the option of buying a complete new valve module. I was wondering if there is a way to seal it up externally also.

You would think the manufacturers would sell complete seal kits for their replicas.... they would sell quite a few i would think.
i suppose that they think you would be forced to buy another gun to replace it but i know if any of mine were
to be rendered useless for want of a cheap seal and i was unable to obtain one from the company that sold it
i would definitely NOT buy another one.

It wouldn't be so bad if they just published the size of the o-rings, but I imagine this and almost all Umarex releases now are rebadged from Asian manufacturers so maybe under contractual terms.

James, I have worked on a few of these myself. I do not know what size to O ring is, as I have hundreds of O rings, I just find one that fits, cover it in silicone grease and reassemble. Never had one come back in , so must be ok. As the O ring is static a normal good quality nitrile one will work fine. Pete.

I'll post findings here

Some time ago I had an issue- as did everyone else - with the Tanfoglio 1911 mag. A wise head on AirgunBBS ended up buying a selection pack of o rings off the Bay of Fleas and they actually worked!
Am enjoying the Cowboy rifle 😉

If anyone else follows up on this thread, this is now fixed. The o-rings specific to the connection of the copper pipe are identical in size, and replacements are cheap as chips. CaptDAR was kind enough to send me this link for these Viton ones and they are perfect - www.search4parts.co.uk/product/25x15-viton-metric-o-rings-vitonI could take this rifle apart blindfolded now I think! Not too bad at all to work on. So now I have a fully functional Cowboy Rifle again, just in time to be used with my new SAA US Marshal that arrived today . More importantly, that thieving arsehole who got a ban on the AGF hasn't won - a bit of elbow grease and some help and advice from the decent chaps on this forum has saved the day

Great news. Myself and Billy were talking about that on Monday, glad you got it resolved.

Always good to see a gun back up and running ...Just a quick question is viton the standard material for co2 "O" ring seals ..... i always thought Nitrile would work better but could be wrong (hope not as i have hundreds of them)
