I've been collecting guns that have featured in my life, largely through films or history. I first started using the dessert eagle with my friends over 20 years ago when the online shooter counter strike came out. It was my hand gun of choice. When I got my first replica it came with a poster of the other guns Umarex make and there it was. It's been on my want list ever since, but as I only used to buy guns from physical shops, kinda hard to come by. So thanks to this forum another tick in the box. Thanks Pete flatrajectorySo here it is only had time so far to unbox it. Hopefully get to shoot it soon.

I thought that I spotted a DE in one of the photos of Pete's table at the recent Melbourne Fair. I had one a few years back....great fun to shoot with a crack like a .22LR. Bit of a heavy Co2 consumer, but hey.... A lot of people can be a bit sniffy about 'plastic' guns, but I wasn't/am not.
Have fun!

Thanks everyone. Been unusually busy during the recent weekends (when it's been dry enough, I'm a fair weather shooter 🤣) so not had much shooting time. I found myself near Windsor on Sunday and there was an RFD open so I dropped in and picked up a cheap red dot. Now the clocks have changed there is some light when I get home from work, so I have now used my new weapon at least. I've read that it was loud but it didn't seem much louder (or maybe I'm just more deaf than I thought) than my other replicas. I like the fact that blow back loads the next shot. Do many other pellet shooters do that? Accuracy wasn't great, but that could just be me. So far lots of fun and plenty more to be had.

My DE was a bit different to yours then buddy It was 'blooming' loud ! It was very common for owners to receive a lot of attention on range days with it as it was so loud that other shooters would often say,"What the bloody hell is that !", lol. The first stage of pulling on the trigger rotated the magazine, I could feel (and hear) it rotating. Mine was pretty darn accurate too, at 7m I could get groups (unrested) at around the size of a 10p piece. AFAIK, most other rotary mag guns rotate the ring mag as you initially pull the trigger, the slide does nothing at all in that respect. But the only one I ever owned was the DE so I am prepared to be proved wrong if anyone else knows any different. There's an easy way to see though, load a rotary mag with one less pellet than full, put it in the gun and see where the missing pellet is (12 o'clock, top, etc.) and then pull the slide back a couple of times, open the action again and check to see whether the mag has moved. If I'm correct, then it'll be in the exact same place it was when you put it in the gun, if you're right then the mag would have rotated it's position around equal to how ever many times you racked the slide back.

In the Umarex DE the slide blowback only cocks the hammer for each shot, the trigger actuating the magazine turn as with all the rotary versions. The first part of the trigger pull rotates the pellet carrier.

There are several pellet blowback pistols, some with full size drop-out magazines, some with discs, some with belts and some with the double-ended rotary stick magazines. As far as I know, they all use the first part of the trigger pull to move the pellet-holding device.

I, as always, bow to your greater knowledge. The revolvers I have, all advance the next round when you cock the hammer, so I have just assumed that was what happening inside the revolvermatics. Plinking away last night confirmed that the blowback just cocks the hammer ready for the next shot. It does make the trigger for the next shot lighter so I’m happy with that. (what do you use to measure the trigger pull weight?) Any other pellet shooting pistols that blow back and cock the trigger

Gavin, The Deagle was very accurate when I tested it, so it must be you. I was getting cloverleaf groups at 6 yards... try different pellets too.
Pete.

Similar to what Pete has said, when I owned mine, I had no issues with accuracy. I was using Geco pellets in it as well as all my other Umarex replicas. Just found that I still had a photo of it in my files....

I thinks I made a mistake in never owning a pellet version.
