Why do you say that your grommet is fitted incorrectly?

Why do you say that your grommet is fitted incorrectly? If I remember correctly the photo was taken after I took it apart and put it back again. I think the flat part is supposed to be at the bottom. At least from memory, the seal in my new DW715 was. There is a tab on one of the corners and and that, from memory, should be at the right hand bottom corner from the photo (left hand frame). If I remember correctly, round seals are for Gen 1 guns. I know because as HeadHunter said I bought the wrong ones to start with and fitted it on my DW715. Shaun will be along shortly to confirm. Or you can have a look at your new DW and see if they are the same shape. (having said all that I have crap memory so I could well be confabulating...)

In any case that means the one on canadianguy57 's DW has the wrong grommet, which may be the cause of the binding problem.

This is from a 6"BB does it make a difference? Sticking out to far? I was just checking out my 4 and 6". My 4" is the same as in Sherrif's pic that was posted straight on the right side. Maybe it's a touch thicker mine? That's probably why double action seems stiffer then the pellet does. I thought maybe the forcing cone be a touch longer then usual to?

I had a look at mine. David was right. My photo was correct.
I don't know about the 6mm version. Is your DW 6" a pellet, 4.5mm BB or 6mm BB version?
Unless the seller had a tinkle with the barrel, I doubt the forcing cone is too long. If you are able to push it all the way it, then it is unlikely to be the cause of the problem.

As I was saying in the post above it's from a 6" BB/4.5 and my 4" is a pellet.
Can you change out a grommet are they even accessible to get?

If my memory serves me correctly, you have to remove the valve from the frame to get at the seal properly. It's not too difficult, two screws and it just lifts out. You might find that the valve seal has not been properly seated and that might be what is causing it to stand slightly proud, I've seen this before on DW715s when people have tried to 'pull' it forward without removing the valve from the frame. You can get replacement seal kits for the Dan Wesson 715, just make sure that if you do that you get the right one DON'T get the Dan Wesson (first gen') replacement seal kit as they are not the same. I'm sending your springs off today so when you get them you'll have to remove the hammer to fit a new one and once the hammer is out of the frame it's only just two screws that are holding the valve in place, it's a simple job just to remove the valve and check that the seal is correctly seated/fitted. In truth the DW715 has an almost clockwork action, anything less than that is pointing to a problem. If I was you I'd strip it down, clean the parts, lubricate and refit. If you're unsure about doing it just take loads of pictures with your phone as you go so you can see exactly where everything goes back. At least once you've done that we can rule out any minor issues before diagnosing the actual fault. Use silicon oil or silicon grease on your seal, don't use any petroleum based products on the seals as this will cause them to rot very quickly and become 'tacky' to the touch. I will eventually get around to doing a complete strip down article on the DW715 for the forum but I'm 'juggling' quite a few balls at the moment.....but I will get around to it in the end.

So do we know for sure if this is a wrong seal, old style or in wrong? It still shoots fine how it is.

This is the problem, how do i make sure what seal is right or is this the right seal for when it came out? I know this is a older revolver serial starting with 15. There is absolute no customer support!! I have nothing to go by! i'm a little p&^%^ now....unbelievable!
