I recieved my brand new Antiqued Colt SAA Peacemaker in BB format yesterday. Today I shall be getting out my 'Colt SAA Peacemaker Wobbly Barrel Repair Kit' and fixing the wobbly barrel on it! Shame on you Umarex....this isn't right! If these guns were £31.50p each, fair enough but....... Rant over. Yeah, it's annoying when you have to repair a brand new gun but it does go a long way to making it yours, there's definitely a bond forged between man and gun when you've stripped it down and got it functioning properly.

Spot on HH! I was thinking the same thing when I repaired my second one the other day.

The guide is ever so useful but you don't need it once you have done one. I stripped down my Ranger and my US Marshal versions yesterday and did the shim job on an ever so slightly loose barrel shroud on each. It never affects my nickel or blued versions though. I did look and see that the bonding agent used seems to be dry and crumbly so must not adhere well to the aged finish on the Colts. Anyway, literally took me an hour to do both taking my time. Listening to some suitable music whilst doing some airgunsmithing. Quite enjoyed it. I think I have done this job on 4 or 5 aged Colts now.

Nice thread and a really easy "how to" but I've hit an issue. The accuracy of my Saa was never anything to shout about so as I'm on hols I thought I'd do this mod. Well the barrel was wobbly so packed it out as above instructions and put it all back together.
Fired three different brands of pellet but am getting very disappointing groups of about 5-6" at yrds with a two handed grip. Anyone have any further ideas.............dom

Grip it nice and tight Dom, I find the hammer fall quite strong on them and it can affect accuracy.
