That book looks rather interesting! It is, gives a chronological history of the development to the MK VI.

When I was a kid I used to marvel at comic book covers and how they led you into a story that became you own imagination’s adventure. It feels the same looking at these photographs and the story they tell. Sat at a table admiring a wonderful recreation of an item from a bygone era seems magical to me. That said here’s one thing that spoils this pistol for me - the safety switch on the side, why or why did they put that there! It spoils the otherwise perfect replica imo and is the only thing stopping me buying and cherishing this pistol.

Removing the safety is the last thing I plan to do to mine, it does really bug me too!

I think the Webley is one of those (few) guns that the designers nailed first time right off the drawing board it is just such a nice looking gun and all the proportions seem to be perfect. Plus from what I read that big .455 round was slightly slower than the .45 and far more devastating with the manstopper style rounds
The airgun version to my eye is also perfect apart from the H&S fun police mandating a safety catch for the idiots of the world, but its such a small almost unobtrusive thing that it wouldn't and won't stop me buying one in a month or 2 once I settle the Schofield situation.
Lovely pictures of the gun and I must admit to being every so slightly envious of you both ☺️ 👍

To be honest I sold both of the MK6 Webleys I owned. Just not keen on them as a replica. Great DA trigger etc but looks wise, they don't do it for me.

What's the appeal of the .22 version?

What's the appeal of the .22 version? Hits a tin can much harder and makes a bigger hole. Proper MAN calibre

I do like your garden. Are you in the country? On the edge of a small village. Need to be a bit cautious at times as it’s generally very quiet and the shots can echo a bit. That said there is a clay pigeon range on the opposite hill which creates just as much noise at times
