I've hankered after a CO2 4.5mm BB firing SMLE replica ever since testing one of the first at the end of 2019. However, the plain woodwork and closely machine cut handguards put me off as the replica just looked too clean. With a complete lack of DIY skills, I decided adapting original woodwork was beyond me, so was delighted when this one came along on AGF last week. It is fitted with a 4 piece SMLE stock rather than the 3 piece of the replica and some of the fittings, such as the barrel band, rearsight and nosecap have been replaced with originals. Performance is top notch and the SMLE is capable of single hole groups at 6 yards with Smart Shot, which is good enough for me. MV is in excess of 400 fps and I fired over 80 shots indoors from one cartridge. All in all, I like this one.

I too thought that the finish on the currently offered SMLE looked a bit wrong on a Service rifle. It could of course be aged as many have, but you can’t beat original woodwork and fittings if you can adapt them. Brian

Thanks All, The CO2 SMLE can keep this one company. AbasMajor will know of it - it is a pre WW1 Lincoln Jeffries underlever air rifle within a Lee Enfield stock and furniture. Another one that shoots as good as it looks. I've even used it for HFT and several vintage airgun comps.
