Hello all.
To some degree and by accident, I seem to have become a replica collector. I didn't set out to become one it's simply that I've bought a few items that I really like and lo and behold, there I am a replica collector. Currently I have a Remington Colt 1911, a Webley MKVI revolver, an Umarex Colt SAA and a Walther Winchester. I realised that I am a collector when I started looking at SMLE and Mauser K98 not just from a shooting it perspective but simply for the ownership and historical interest. I have always been a keen history buff and studied history as a OU course when I retired. I am especially interested in the Old West and thoroughly enjoy debunking Hollywood crap. I love westerns but mostly when they are historically accurate and there are not many of those around.
To get things started does anyone have personal experience of either the SMLE Co2 or the Mauser K98 PCP?
For my part if anyone has any queries with regard to the real old west or debunking the Hollywood myths I would be keen to have a discussion. I did a paper on the Civil War and Reconstruction and the myths created by Hollywood as part of my degree course so I am quite knowledgeable even if I do say so myself. It would be mostly from memory as most of my primary source material disappeared during a house move.

Welcome to the forum ... this is a great place to learn all things that are replica guns .
i have an interest in mainly western and ww1/ww2 based guns myself.
I have an SMLE that i modified as the dimensions and a few other things bothered me a little, I opted for a G&G Airsoft Kar 98 as it was more realistic than
the PCP version.
Happy browsing

Welcome Al, I didn't set out to collect replicas either, but I have ended up with quite a few, mainly revolvers of various sorts, vintage and modern.

There are many reasons people collect replicas .... some love the shooting experience, some just like to own them ... i love trying to make them look a bit more realistic. i now have close on 60 replicas in my collection, BEWARE.. this hobby can be very addictive lol close shell gas station
