I've read this book from cover to cover and it's a great book from the Grandfather of the Magnum cartridge (he's responsible for pushing for the development of the .44 magnum & .41 magnum revolvers at S&W and the development of the same cartridges that were eventually made by Remington). Filled full of anecdotes, revolver history and practical shooting tips that made it one of the most successful revolver books of the 20th century, covers everything from trick shooting, slip guns, quick draw, reloading, gunsmithing, holsters, hunting, target shooting and practically anything else you could ever want to know about early 20th century handguns. His favourite gun, the Colt SAA, is mentioned excessively in the book right the way up to it's replacement by the Ruger in the 50's.
The guy's a legend, he wrote for the magazine 'American Rifleman' back in the 50's through to the early 60's until ultimately moving over to the 'Guns & Ammo' magazine team where he was one of the main contributors until his death many, many years later. His continual 'riff' with Jeff Cooper (ex army, ex Policeman and the founder of the Practical Pistol Shooting format that was used by the FBI and later turned into IPSC) was a constant one where Jeff advocated the modern police force carrying .45 autos whereas Keith wanted big bore revolvers, both of them had lost friends in the Police force and both had different views on how to rectify the situation.
My copy of this book is a modern reprint and the pictures seem to lack a bit of contrast so I might just grab this one for myself especially, as Ian has stated, it's at a great price too.

Well I talked myself into it, lol So you've all missed it BUT on the plus side, I've got a 2012 reprinted version that I'm willing to pass onto someone for just the cost of postage.....

Excellent well done, that's an earlier edition. Mines a reprint with the green cover.
