Umarex have finally updated their website to reflect the models they have released in 2024. The one I'm most interested in (Walther PDP) is strangely only offered as a non blowback version. Fortunately I managed to obtain the T4E version last year which is well made and fully functional including blowback. I was also hoping for a blowback version of the Glock 19...which has still not happened, still, it's nice to see a few new models make their way to the UK market. www.umarex.com/products/airguns/co2/5.8432-1.html

I've been waiting with baited breath for Umarex to update their online catalogue since hearing that they were announcing 80+ new products at this years IWA show. The spring powered BB firing Marlin underlever is 'MEH'.... The optic ready versions of Glocks are pretty underwhelming too..... The Walther being NBB and probably stick mag fed is a step in the wrong direction for me, I don't care that they have added an optional RDS for it either..... The 'Sledge Hammer' tribute is just a silver S&W M29 with faux Ivory inscribed grips, not a show that I remember from the late '80s ..... I suppose it's good that we are getting a replica of the original stainless steel S&W-629 (rather than the previously released 629 'Classic'), nice to see them doing something different but basically it's just a M29 in a nickel finish with different grips. The S&W 629 Competitor is a beast though ! I must admit to being pretty well hooked on that one (no surprise there to most of you guys, lol), its huge bull barrel makes it a monster and being RDS ready is good too, only bad point is that it's a BB only version (ATM) but if they did a pellet version it'll probably only have 2" of rifled barrel anyhow going by Umarex's history but luckily for me I know a guy that can sort that out for me..... The Colt SAA gold n Silver BB firing collectable (out of 1000), haven't we already got one of these ?!? Okay it comes with a set of white grips with a 'poker chip' grip medallion but I'm sure that won't make it too sought after to be honest ! Seems like a standard re-release to me with a different grip and they've added a number to make it a collectable.... The Colt 1911 is, well it's a standard KWC 1911 in a matt black finish with some nice trades on it, nothing to get awfully excited about really.... ( I almost fell asleep during the airsoft section, from what I remember he was banging on about 'Optic Ready' that could fit all the most expensive RDS on the market to the gun. It seemed to me that Umarex have realised how much money the AS fraternity have in their pockets for weekend skirmishing equipment).... They've made some improvements to the T4E range, the TDR50 & TDP50 have had a makeover and power increase (export only models), I do like to see continual improvements in any gun but as they are NOT replicas I'm NOT really interested ! The carbine conversion set for the HDR50 seems pointless to me but I'm sure that it'll be popular with the 'Home Defense' brigade but I couldn't help but be reminded of the very early Samuel Colt designed revolving rifles, they just seemed to be a modern take on an ancient design. Then it went onto .22LR Hammerelli guns (1911s & rifles) before going into cutlery......I do like a good knife but Walther branded knives do seem to be overpriced Chinese made knives to me so I'll stick with the better (and cheaper) alternatives.... Well that's my take on the IWA shows Umarex releases, the S&W-629 Comp' caught my eye but at this very moment there's no information on the Umarex website for a release date or even anymore information at all ! So I'm guessing that it'll be released some time later this year but I'll start saving my pennies now for it. as far as I'm concerned, being a replica revolver lover that is, it's great to see them bringing another different replica revolver to the market this year, okay it's basically the S&W-629 frame with a beastly bull barrel but hey ! It's better than nothing. The Colt SAA limited release collectable is a bit of a let down though, you can't just put some fancy grips on a gun and expect everyone to rush out and buy it, did they not learn anything from the overpriced Double Aces set that they did ? They're still in the shops, still overpriced (£495 for a double BB Colt SAA set with fancy grip medallions) and plenty pop up on the secondhand market at arounf the £325 price mark, not that popular, not a sought after set really and I'm guessing that the Gold & Silver SAA will be much the same too !

Perfect sum up Shaun. Nothing that floats my boat. As to their RDS, they are cheap Chinese copies with 5, that’s Five, moa.

The SA-35 was easily the star of the show for me when I attended the Florida gun fair last Oct.

Yes I so want a decent Hi-Power replica, the DA turkish Ekol things are not the same. (To be fair the Ekols are based on the BDA updates FN tried to sell in the 80 and 90's with out much success)

I love my early Umarex Browning 8mm blank firer. I like the style of this one as oposed to the others and wouldn't mind a airsoft version of the same.

When are they finally going to make these? We really should be waiting for the proper Springfield Armoury replica version as they are the guys that actually make the real steel SA-35 and they are known to do a lot of replicas of their own firearms (XDm, the mil spec 1911, XDe, etc.). I've got my fingers crossed that they will release one sometime soon
