Progress so far; Drilled out the barrel to take a steel liner. Turned down a barrel, just need to turn the 2 ends before assembly Made combined barrel guide/1/2" unf thread, that will be glued into with barrel liner with loctite 638 as the liner will be glued into the barrel. Totally permanent but can't think of another way of fitting it all together. Oh, and need to make a new spring the right size, slightly smaller...that'll be fun, I'll be having a few rejects but I've got 3 meters of wire to play with The small 2mm screws have been replaced with slotted screws with spacers behind the 2 that are recessed to bring them level with the frame. The barrel apart from pointing to the left from new has become loose in the frame from constantly being offered up so experimenting with smears of jb weld and lots of 400 grit in order to tighten things up

The barrel from new, so that's why it shot 2 " to the right at 6yds Where's quality control when you need it

I have a horrible feeling that this is going to be a stupid question that proves the limits of my knowledge.
If the barrel is, as it obviously does, pointing to the left why is it shooting to the right.

One of the first things I taught my kids was left from right cos in my sixties now and never figured it out, yep it shoots 2" to the LEFT, my bad

After making about a dozen spings till I sorted the diam, length and no.of coils it's now sorted. It now has a 5" rifled Barrel (2 1/2" originally), added about 30 grams at the muzzle And now shoots spot on height wise at 6 yds but around 1/2" to the LEFT Hard to guage how loud it is but about half as loud with the silencer fitted And it still fits in the box!

Cheers, thinking about wood grips next before doing the daunting ageing , but they do look much better aged as the examples on here show

Nice work there buddy When I fitted the full length rifled inner barrel to mine it made it tin can accurate out to 10m ! I got similar especially with the M29, near one hole at 6 yds So why do you think the revolvers always get half length barrels (webleys excluded (?)),my 5" BB 629 is more accurate than the original 2.75" barreled 6.5" M29. I can't see it being purely price but I may be wrong Suprised nobody's took that up with trading standards when it actually states barrel length on the back of the M29/629 box
