So, did Gletcher miss a trick here? the only mass produced revolver that was genuinely able to be silenced due to the cylinder mechanics and the unique bullet design yet no silenced option? and no possibility of fitting one.
I'd have thought if it was sold with some kind of silencer it would have added to the appeal similar to both the Baikal and Umarex Makarovs, although the Baikal was an aftermarket thing.
I've seen a couple of suppressed Nagants on YouTube with the barrel extended 12mm or so and threaded for a silencer.
I've had one of mine apart several times and there are a couple of flaws in the design that would prevent fitting a silencer without strengthening in a couple of places, namely the barrel (shroud) and the frame where the barrel is inserted into it.
Not sure I can do anything about the frame but I've started on the barrel by making a liner to strengthen it and to support a silencer.
This is a bit of an ongoing project so watch this space

I think the Gletcher version is just the standard issue 1897 version rather than the later 1950's KGB version (c/w silencer), but they certainly did miss a trick there by not marketing two versions though. If mine is anything to go by it's bloody loud ! One of (if not) the loudest revolver that I own, it goes off with quite a bang, not quite as loud as a blank firer but certainly getting there, lol. It's the only gun in my collection that I actually will not fire indoors without some sort of hearing protection as it's caused ringing in my ears when I've done that before. But all that being said they are a lovely and unique 7 shot revolver, it's such a shame that you can't seem to get hold of the pellet cartridges for them anymore as I would love a few more sets. Luckily though I got an extra set with mine when I bought it secondhand.....

These are lovely pistols. I was always fond of the Nagants after buyer a real 1878 together with a few other pistols that turned out to be non "obsolete calibre". I handed them in to the Armory. They have been checked and certified. I kept the pinfire and percussion's but out of the 5 handed in I lost 3 , a S&W Russion .44, French and Belgian pistols. The Nagant and S&W .32 I'm hopefully collecting on Saturday. So, I will have a pair of Nagants if all goes well. and the 1878 I should get back on Saturday

@ HeadHunter, your right about the shells being hard to get. I bought a set from the Bay a while back and have just checked the seller's shop and there's none left. I think he just had 4 sets to sell and I bought one of them. There getting rarer to find now I think. An extra set would have been to to have.

I bought a couple packs of bb shells (as that's all I could find)recently with the intention of converting them to pellet but it's harder than it sounds, should be ok when I get the time though. Just dread losing one shell so they rarely come out of the cylinder

Mine were £20.00 with free delivery from the Bay. Wish I'd bought another set.

Yep, dealt with him before, never had a successful result though, ordered a set of pellet shells along with Makarov seals, gave Bank details, got an order number then...zilch, absolutely nothing. He still owes me a 3j Mak valve, been about 8 years so far.

Must admit I was a bit suspicious about the website. No address, just a Berkshire Tel number. No customer feedback details etc. I dont think I would have purchased anything .I can only presume CapDar has had a positive outcome with his purchasing from the company. Remember, we are always warned if something doesn't look right .....it probably isn't.

Been to the Armory today to pick my Section 58's. Pleased to get them back. I was going to loose 3 but decided to have the S&W .44 Russion deactivated. I've let them keep the French & Belgium pistols to destroy. Have to find a new cabinet for the S&W's now , the Nagant (1878) in a case with my airsoft 1895. I love the Schofield I bought from Doyley83 too.

Just put them into the wall cabinet. Have to make a load more cabinets. Got all the wood ready, just need it cut when the weathers better. I made 2 quickly, hand painted stain. They look a bit rough, better from a distance. The new ones will be routered, spray finished, some finished with gold braid.
