Well, what I thought was a bit of a unicorn has turned up! 😎 after CaptDAR recommended some sites to watch and provided links and quite a few goggle eyed nights I saw an ad for the elusive (to me 😜) Tanaka S&W M60!
I ran over here to see that he’d even posted the link on my rather whiny thread about considering the deact route. Yeah, soz about that guys, can we not mention it again, bit embarrassed. Sassprillies all round when we meet.
First time I’ve handled this and I’ve got to say I’m impressed although I might go for the weighted wood grips which look like they’ll be an import.
Huge thanks to CaptDAR and HeadHunter for the assist and general warm and fuzzies for this group of hard-bitten old softies.🥹
I’m off to track down the missing redhead and pocket the cash right after this scotch. Or was it write off the scotch, track down the cash and pocket the redhead? 🤔

Do you keep it under your special hat as your concealed carry? 😜

Do you keep it under your special hat as your concealed carry? 😜 Of course I do . The best bit about these Tanaka replicas is the fit and finish and attention to detail are amazing. It`s no wonder they are on the pricey side. But they are very difficult to tell apart from the real steel versions ...... until you pick one up. My example is more amazing because I bought it off a mate for £20, because it was leaking gas. !! 45 minutes and 2 O rings later and it was up and running. Wolf Armouries is the dealer that stock many of thses models, when they are available. Pete. wolfarmouries.co.uk/catalogsearch/result/?q=Tanaka+revolvers

I don’t have any pic hosting or I’d put mine up. Wolf Armouries shows many items out of stock which put me off trying for the grips. They seem about half actual weight? Maybe a little less? I jumped at this one but would love a version with shells. (Just being greedy now 🙈)

Moon buns, you can post pics via ` postimages`, as I did. Yes they are light weight, due to Japanese law which forbids replicas being made of metal. I think they have to be 80% plastic . But the realism is mind bogling ( I was a practical pistol shooter before the handgun ban ). Stock of the Tanakas in the UK is sporadic, but they are well worth looking out for. Pete.

Good to know about stocks occasionally refreshing. I was in a small bore pistol club in the North West of England in my teens. Too young to own but members were always very generous to this callow youf. Fond memories of a wobbly, ancient .22 target pistol 🙈 Have you used Kicbbguns in TW for things like weighted wood grips etc? I think the grips are the only abs on the gun apart from guts in the cylinder? Maybe I need to rub my eyes and look again! I most definitely will keep my eye out for a M36 -
