Happy New Year fellow replica fans. I have just got around to carrying out the accuracy improvements to my Swiss Arms 1911 as per Mr Headhunters instructions. Not had chance to test it yet. My question is the soft rubber boot fitted to the breech end of the barrel. Mine has two little tits that project into the barrel through a machined slot. Are these to retain the BB prior to launch or to provide a bit of back spin ( hop up)?

Have finally tested my accurized Swiss Arms 1911, so thank you Mr Headhunter for the post. It is definitely better. It still shoots 2 inches left at 8 yards though. As anyone attempted to move their rearsight to compensate for a similar problem?

As anyone attempted to move their rearsight to compensate for a similar problem? I'd try using some teflon tape internally on the left hand side of the barrel bushing to 'point' the inner barrel further to the right to try to compensate for the misalignment. The only problem with trying to adjust the rear sight is that it's screwed in place (two screws from inside the slide) and isn't really adjustable, you could remove both screws and try to make the rear sight a friction fit but then you run the risk of it working lose and having it fall off the gun, which would be an absolute nightmare ! Two inches to the left at eight yards wouldn't take much of a change of angle to the barrel alignment to rectify but you're never going to get 'BB on BB' accuracy with a 1911, the best you can expect is a 1" group at around 5-6m (with the odd flyer).

Thanks. I did think about trying to offset the barrel bushing. Will give it a go and if it does not work I will just compensate for it. I have found that the grouping is much better with copper coated lead balls as against traditional steel balls.
