Yeah, I know I'm not here much but hey. Just bought a AMG Electric Sten airsoft for fun. So far so good, seems a barrel of laughs. There is a 'hop-up' adjustment, I think I know where it is and how to adjust (youtube) but I want to know, what difference does it make, is it safe (for the gun) and is it generally worth doing? Any negatives? Positives? Martin

It can yield positive results buddy, but it's only worth doing if the gun is shooting low (or high) at a certain range that you regularly shoot at eg, 10m in the back garden etc. It's totally safe for the gun as it just adjusts the spin of the BB as it flies through the air.

Thanks for that, I sort of found it out for myself after I posted. It does shoot low presently so I will tinker and try to get it on target. It's a right good laugh though!

As Shaun has written select the distance you want to shot at regularly, say a tin can at 20m, watch flight of the bb and set the hop accordingly. Personally I tend to set my hops at neutral and then use sights. The hop is really for use in skirmish to increase effective range.
