This is a G&G Armament M4 CM16 EAG, semi and full auto selectable. Been gifted two of them but both without batteries and magazines. Bought them now, fitted and ran a test. Keeping one and passed the other on. Need to get the Krylon black spray out and see what I can do with stock.

Apart from carefully cleaning the see-through clothing first do you think it would be a good idea to use a Krylon primer before the matt black top coats?

Definitely .... i would sand it first with ultra fine wet and dry to give the primer something to "key" onto ... then wait until its completely dry .... sand again with very fine wet and dry then clean before putting on the top coats

Rather than ultra fine sandpaper (800 grit), you might be better off using either 0000 steel wool or a cream cleanser (like JIF, etc) to give the surface a bit more bite for the paint to adhere to. Sandpaper and emery cloth are great for flat areas whereas fine grinding pastes can get into every 'nook & cranny' far better.
