Don't buy fecking cheap spray paint from Lidl that claims to be be scratch and abrasion resistant. π€¬
Sprayed up my 1911, left it to harden for nearly a week, and it just rubs off with a fingernail. π‘π€¬
Buy cheap, buy twice... π«
Breathe, and start again. π΅βπ«

I WILL sort it - got a box of bits that need a purpose!
What I really should have used was the satin spray Hammerite that I already have, and it gives a good finish, but I wanted to go a bit more matt, however the Lidl ended up satin anyway...

There's a very dark 'midnight blue' colour that I've been toying with using on my next spray project as it might give the appearance of a dark blued gun finish.

Their satin black works a treat on the frames of the Webleys that I restore. After removing any scuffs & scratches, I prime any bare areas and then apply several light coats over a few days. Leave for a week and then some light buffing with a compound. Finished results match perfectly and seem quite hardwearing. I also used this to change the 'poo' coloured plastic furniture of an old Crosman 1377 to a more acceptable black and it's keyed well to that surface and is still looking pristine after almost 2 years of handling. An acquaintance of mine had great results with the HALFORDS brand when repairing damage to original Gibson guitar finishes!
