This has consumed quite a bit of my weekend, since SWMBO has been in London with her sister. 😁 Purchased from flatrajectory via this here forum, I have completely stripped it down, cleaned everything, de-burred, polished and re-blued every screw, protected everything with Renaissance Wax, lubricated as appropriate, and it is spitting out Econ II's at around 475fps with a very nice BANG! Happy days... 😎

Glad you got it back up to how it was last time I used it. Did you find anything in particular that caused the original low power ?? Pete.

It is so, so close to being a 79G; the early Daisy examples were built using parts made by S&W, everything is identical to my 78G, and all parts are interchangeable. The only mechanical difference is that the trigger is cast alloy rather than sintered steel. One of the previous owners must have discovered that the alloy version on the Daisy is prone to wear, so had added a brass block to replace the worn edge, however this is now wearing down too. Ideally a steel trigger would be the best solution, but I am not holding my breath waiting for one to turn up!
