I've posted this on 'tother forum and thought I would throw it on here to stir conversation.
Would it be beyond the wit of man to manufacture a semi-auto C02 pistol that shoots pellets or bb's using cartridges as per the revolver models and eject the spent cartridge with the blow-back action?
There are probably many manufacturing issue's that make this impossible, the first I can think of is where would the C02 cartridge be housed in the pistol?
The shell casing's could not be made the same as the Brocock Air Cartridge shells system but they would be the similar to the umarex Saa/ Sam Wesson 715/ Webley Mk6 but shorter as in the 9mm short/.380 calibre with the rubber grommet in the base to hold the pellet/bb.
What say's the collective?

That's the kind of thing I was thinking of.

Had a Marushin Glock 17 with shell ejection years ago. It was 8mm airsoft, pretty low powered and the shells were easily lost.

The issue with CO2 is the space in the magazine surely? All efforts with cartridge ejection I have seen so far have been airsoft with gas power, presumably as they can do funky designs with the air storage in the mag

The only problem would be trying to design and make a working auto loading pistol that utilises CO2 capsules, either the standard 12g or the slightly smaller 8g caplets. You could probably get away with it in something like a Dessert Eagle as it's size would allow you to hide the capsule somewhere within the slide BUT for something like an UZI, H&K UMP, Kriss Vector, etc. would be a much easier design and I'd be up for any of them ! Spitting out mini faux 9mm shell casing would be fun

I used to own a Marushin Browning HiPower shell ejecting pistol in 6mm, and frankly it was a pita trying to find those empties ... lost loads. Don`t bother.
