I am not a fan of the excite pellets. I have tried them in all my pistols but none seem to like them as much as Hobbies or my current go to pellet RWS Super H point. Pete I have picked up a tin of those to try in my MP-7 based on your recent experience with yours.

The only gun I've ever owned that actually shot any good with those RWS super hollow points is my DW 8", everything else I shot them through absolutely hated them.

That is weird Shaun, as most pistols I have tried them in are quite accurate with them. ? boffins explain. Pete.

Just luck of the draw maybe? Personally I think that it has more to do with the size of the pellet (4.49mm, 4.50mm, 4.51mm, 4.52mm) than anything else, that and pellet size/weight consistency from the actual manufacturer. For the ranges (5-20m) we shoot at wadcutters seem to be the best performing pellets, although there are some exceptions to this general rule with certain gun and pellet combinations. There's a mental aspect to shooting pellets too, as an example; I think that with cheap 'plinking' pellets we tend (well I do anyway) to just point and plink away with them but with the more expensive (so called) target pellets we (again me) tend to take our time, make sure the shot is taken slowly and deliberately. I think that effects the perceivable results tremendously, because when you're firing a pellet that costs twice (or even three times) as much than your standard plinking pellet you want to make every shot count and as a result the groups are far better than with the quick fired plinking pellet. It all comes down to validating an expensive purchase, we want the pellets to perform better because they cost us more and sometimes we forget that 'tin can accurate' at 10m is good enough for most of us, none of us are competing with our replicas at 10m paper target shooting at Olympic levels where pellet on pellet accuracy is a pre-requisite for even entering. Truthfully a 2" group at 10m is more than adequate for our type of shooting/plinking needs and there's a lot of pellets on the market that are more than capable of giving you those sort of results without the need to resigning yourself to buying over the counter, overly expensive target pellets. Despite how I like to think of myself from time to time, I am a plinker, my hobby is based around plinking quality replica guns and the most technical I ever get (when it comes to pellets) is the monotony of pellet sizing whole tins of cheap pellets (normally H&N Excite Econ IIs) to suit the various different barrel sizes that I have in my collection, but hey ! If that can give me a 2" group (and under) at 10m with cheap pellets I'm quite happy to while away those long dark wintry evenings sizing pellets. Maybe I've got too much time on my hands ? Maybe I'm over thinking it altogether ? Maybe I should just get out more....lol

Glock Dual Ammo Pellet Comparison, Econ II vs Super H Point at six yards. Not much of a difference really, within the bounds of open sights and off-hand. The inner barrel could do with a bit shimming to keep it in one place, but that is for another day. Apologies for the steel rule, didn't have any coins on me... 🪙🪙🪙👛
