I have one of those RMR plates that came with a red dot. Allegedly for Glock, but alas the Umarex one has a dovetail mount, when the one that came with the dot is a square slot (and too small).
Has anyone attempted sticking a dot on a glock? Or a Shadow 2? That's another modern gun that would work well with dot.
Thanks in advance.

I wouldn't attach red dot to a CO2 gun slide. Slide return spring is weak comparing to 9mm gun. With red dot attached slide most likely won't cycle properly or use too much CO2.

You've got to buy one of those 'Doctor II' red dots to go with it, seems appropriate somehow, lol.

Thanks in advance. Sorry Im late to the party, but just havent been feeling well as of late. Ive got cervical neuropathy issues that I wish on no one, and sometimes the pain is such, I cant even type on a keyboard....ugh. Anyways, as for the Shadow 2, ASG makes a dedicated RedDot adapter plate for this model, and installation is simple as removing 2 grub screws atop the rear sight, and replacing with the plate. Add LockTite ! Easy peasy. Not so much for the Glock depending on the model. Can be done on the Glock 17 Gen 4...IF...you can remove the factory LockTited hold down screw from the under side of the slide WITHOUT stripping it out. It's a cheap, soft BS type screw in the first place, so tread carefully here ! I love these sights, and I use them (lasers too) whenever possible. They're a godsend to these tired eyes, and just makes sighting/shooting more enjoyable. When a true slide mount is not possible (these new "micro" RedDots weigh nearly zilch), going via "adapter bridge" works just fine, if your gun comes with a lower Weaver/20mm Picatinny rail. I have 3 Co2 dedicated slide mounted RedDots, and don't experience any blowback or gas consumption issues....π

Well well well... The plate arrived some time this week. It got "mixed" up with a pack of micro screws that I bought and ended up in a pile in my workshop... all I know is that arrived some time this week, which is about 3+ weeks earlier than expected. Anyway, here we are: Yes it fits. I didn't have to buy the Doctor II red dot. Using the Trijicon(job), also from AliExpress a while back. Not as low as I would have liked, but it fits! So how did we get here... First thing first, unlike some of the plates that comes with certain pistol red dots, this one does have a dovetail on it. Before you rush out to get one, note that the tolerance on the dovetail is... let's say a bit liberal! Yes, it's kind of secured by 2 grub screws, provided. Doing it (correctly) will make a mark on the slide. However that will be under the iron/polymer/PLA sights, or the red dot plate. I'm not fussed! And so I unscrewed the picatinny plate from the red dot: Then find the correct set of holes that will fit this red dot: And proceed to securing the dot on the plate using the screws provided: Using the screws provided. Note that some of them are imperial hex, so make sure you have one of those! The ones I needed were imperial hex. Fortunately I have one of those keys lying around in the range bag... And looks like it will work... The proof is in the pudding... and when I get a chance to test them I will! (It's on my to-do list, which is growing every hour!)

Great job Adrian, I can see a 3D printed spacer in your not too distant future though for going between the mounting plate and the top of the slide, just to take up that bit of 'free play'

Then finding the right screws (and nuts) to secure it all... Yeah, I'll just stick a few pieces of scrap plastic in that gap! π€·π»ββοΈ

How about a bit of VHB double sided tape - you can get it in various thicknesses, there's foam in the middle for a bit of 'tolerance' and it would take some of the strain from that little dovetail.

Saw a similar comment on AGF.
Double-sided tape in the dovetail or between the plate and slide? I would probably stick something solid between the dovetails. Anything soft may cause "movement" and loss of "accuracy" (not that it's an accurate gun to start with!). Some scrap from the 3D printer will do just fine!
