Afternoon all, I picked up a nice antique cowboy secondhand today
Got home and first co2 it’s leaking. Brilliant
The hiss is coming from where the shells eject around the valve area rather than butt pad end.
Any idea or pointer for a fix please?
Any ideas on spares/repairs value please 🤦🏻♂️
One of those days ffs

Just to add was sold as seen - I shot two rounds from it - it had co2 in when I was there.
I said to the seller I would like to remove the co2 for transportation to which I tried to undo the cylinder screw… seller watched on.
This was really stiff and hard - assumed seller had crunched it down as he had mentioned a piercing issue prior.
Finally got it undone and I twigged the tube was pressurised like a QB rifle rather than crosman 2250
So I’ve been the one to break it… although seller watched on and said nothing at the time

They can suffer from leaky valve connections, I've heard a few people have managed to fix them though without resorting to paying out for spare parts. Remember that we do have schematics in the library for just such problems, you might find the problem and workout a suitable solution.
Once you've got it fixed (100% confident in your ability to resolve it) you could post the solution in the 'How to' section.

Thank you!
Stripped the rifle - very simple and straight forward and yes it is the brass tube entering the valve that is leaking.
A quick Google comes up with epoxy and metal weld as fixes. More investigation needed!

More investigation needed! I had to strip mine once for the same reason. I re-assembled using some silicone grease around all the sealing parts around that tube and it worked great after that. Maybe lucky? But these are easy to strip down. Unlike the Walther version. That one is a nightmare.

Thanks Andy,
Could simply be some crud in there - was you brass tube fixed or loose into the valve? It looks crimped but unsure as to and glues

Whoop whoop fixed! Stripping is very very simple - the air leak was coming from the brass tube into the valve - new valve £40 worst case so nothing to lose. Initially I used evo rapid metal but looking back maybe 30 minutes wasn’t long enough to wait 🤣😂 Second attempt was loctite 263 followed by epoxy - left over night and voila! Air tight and back in action

10@10 off the knee - 40 shots from 1 co2 bulb 2 hours after pressurising I think it’s fair to say it’s fixed and working well!
