Guidelines for posting in this section
1) The “ Shooting Range” is open to all members. 2) You can only use pistols/revolvers/rifles/SMGs that are replicas of ‘real steel’ guns. 3) Any projectile can be used as long as it's correctly recorded on the target. 4) Because the “ Shooting Range” is purely for accuracy and not necessarily score based, it does not matter whether a 6 shot revolver or 15 shot semi-automatic is used, the purpose is to get shot groups as small as possible. 5) You can only use a 14x14cm single face target, if rifle shooting at distances greater than 10m it's at the shooter's discretion to choose a suitably sized target. 6) If shooters are using a Replica Handgun then all shots can be at any distance between 5-10m and should be shot standing off hand (either single or double handed) with NO support, if a red dot or pistol scope is used it should be CLEARLY stated as otherwise it will be assumed that it was done using the iron sights alone. 7) If shooters are using a Replica Rifle then all entries must be shot at a minimum distance of 10m and recorded on the entry along with make and model of rifle and whether open sights or scope is used. Rifle shooters can choose to either use the ‘Artillery Hold’ or ‘Bench Rest’, but in either case it must be CLEARLY stated. 8) A photo of the shot target must be submitted to the forum thread stating on the target: Members name, the date, the distance, projectile type and the amount of shots,Weapon used,a 5p/US dime coin in the photo on the target face to give a sense of scale. The whole idea of this section is to allow members to post up pictures of their target work for other members to see, whether that be as an example of the accuracy they could expect when using the same replica or just as a friendly competitive nudge to other members to post their contributions. It's hoped that this will help to contribute to a sort of database of examples for other members to utilise if they are thinking of purchasing a certain gun, they can hop to the relevant section to see pictures of any members guns and here they can see the results of the same gun when in use. This section could also become a useful teaching aid in respect to shooting, where good advice can be sought out from some of the 'older hands' to help those newer to the hobby and new to shooting in general, even some of us old hands at this have problems as there is quite a difference between rifle shooting and handgun shooting and making the transition from one to the other can be fraught with easily diagnosed mistakes with even easier solutions, especially when given good advice. So get shooting, get posting and enjoy this wonderful hobby of ours ( I'd like to thank c220w205 (Kim) for all his invaluable help in setting this section up for everyone, thanks buddy)

I remember now, twodoctors had a go at this, which persuaded me that it wasn't worth having a go myself because he scored full marks on everything he shot! 😜

It will be interesting to see the improvement in accuracy across the board. I for one need all the practice I can get 😉

I was never good at one-handed, unlike someone I know called "Mark" who happens to also owns a lathe. I distinctly remember him winning 2 10-m air pistol comps last season... Now this grouping one is a good idea, especially for replica with non-adjustable sights. Nice one Shaun and Kim. 👍🏼

It'll also be good to see some of the results that are obtainable from using some of the newer .43/.50/.60 cal replica models too (like the T4e gear), I'd like to think that we can all help to make a library of results for some of the most commonly available replicas available and even some of the rarer ones, like the S&W model 41 replicas, which I know someone has recently purchased...... If nothing else it'll be fun

The Boss is using Two Handed weaver 6) If shooters are using a Replica Handgun then all shots can be at any distance between 5-10m and should be shot standing off hand (either single or double handed) with NO support, if a red dot or pistol scope is used it should be CLEARLY stated as otherwise it will be assumed that it was done using the iron sights alone. Off hand to me means single unsupported

I thought off hand was single handed not weaver? So does off hand just mean not supported/rested? off hand means unsupported, as in 'off your hands' rather than 'off a rest'. Sometimes the term is used to suggest using your non-dominant hand (which in my case would be my left) but I purely meant it as unsupported shots. Weaver (non dominant foot forward) is the foot stance as opposed to isosceles (full front facing), sitting or laying down. Luckily for me my two handed grip style doesn't really change from revolvers to autos with the exception of the western era guns which I only really fire single handed, as I feel like such a tw*t using two hands on a Colt SAA etc., lol. There's something about firing a Cowboy gun single handed that feels so right but with modern revolvers I seem to automatically go for the two handed grip, especially if going for some double action fun shooting. Thinking about it, I fire my Nagant and my Webley mkVI single handed too, normally accompanied by," Over the top chaps, tally-ho !" (only with the Webley obviously, lol).
