When I got my 78G, I knew that the rear sight was not original, but when I tried to adjust it, the blade fell out, so I took the whole lot out, these were the bits. After many hours of lathe work and filing, I have manufactured some new bits. The blade is tapped to 3mm in a double thickness block, then whittled down to pass through the 2.5mm slot in the sight block, these are all the rear sight components. Installed in the block. And installed in the pistol. I didn't know exactly what the genuine items were like, but I just went with what I thought I could fit in the available space. The notch needs a tweak on the width, but I am pleased that I can now adjust the windage, using my genuine Smith and Wesson screwdriver. 😁

Very nice work, you've done a much better quality 'fix' than the pre-existing one. And yes, I noticed the S&W screwdriver in the picture even before you mentioned it

Less common over here, but I just wanted one because I am a Smith & Wesson fan-boy... So special to me.

They were originally included in with any revolver that you bought from S&W, from a collectors viewpoint they're special but from an average Joe's viewpoint it's just a screwdriver, lol. Another certain S&W Fanboy (#2) has got one as well...
