Guidelines
How many times have we heard a newbie ask the question, "What pellets do you guys use ?", hopefully this section will answer that and also act as a valuable resource for some of us 'old hands' too.
The idea behind this section is to act as a database for good pellet and gun combinations. This resource will only prove to be useful if members contribute to it, so please add your own thoughts and findings on what pellets work best with what guns.
Format.
Generate a new thread using the full name of the pellet as the thread title (eg. RWS Meisterkugeln 4.49mm), if a thread already exists for that pellet then post your information to that thread DO NOT START ANOTHER THREAD. We want to be able to use this section as a resource and if we have multiple threads covering the same pellets then it becomes increasingly difficult to get the information by just reading one thread.
If you are starting a new thread for a pellet remember to include the following information at the top of the very first post in that thread.
Pellet name (eg. RWS Meisterkugeln, H&N Econ II, etc.)
pellet weight (eg. 7 grain, 8.4 grain, 5.2 grain, etc.)
pellet size (eg. 4.49mm, 4.50mm, 4.52mm, unknown, etc.)
Shape (eg. wadcutter, round head, pointed, Diabolo, waisted, skirted, slug, etc.)
material (eg. lead, tin alloy, plastic, etc.)
If you can include a picture of the tin then that's helpful, but it's not compulsory (if anyone else posts to the same thread then feel free to add a picture if none is present in the opening post of the thread).
Give an honest account of the pellets, cost versus accuracy, whether you use them for plinking or target work, feeding/sizing issues, etc. Your own thoughts on the pellet are the main concern, don't be afraid to make your point, just because nobody else seems to use them doesn't mean that you're using the 'wrong' pellet, you may well have found a good pellet that nobody else has discovered ! Put a list together of the guns that you use the pellets in, but DON'T list the guns that they have a negative result in, as this may end up being confusing. Finally, tell us where you got your pellets from and how much you paid, obviously prices will differ from different suppliers but it gives members a rough idea of their cost.
All subsequent posts to a thread do not need to include the necessary pellet information unless something has been omitted from the first post (eg. weight, size etc.). If you notice a special offer on these pellets from a supplier then feel free to post it here for other members to see.
I'm just trying to keep the information in this section as clear and concise as possible, that way it's easy for any member to use this section to gain what they need, eg. if you're wanting to know about RWS Geco flatheads, there's just one thread that has all the relevant information in it rather than have it 'dotted' about here, there & everywhere ! Which is of no use to anybody.
