Some lovely examples there Shaun. All this talk of buckles reminds me of one I used to own and have sadly misplaced as the years have passed. There is a bit of a back story to it coming into my possession. When I was 11 I was lucky enough to go on holiday to the west coast of America (quite unusual for a working class family in 1981) During our road trip we stayed at a town called Solvang on the way up to the pacific coast highway. We happened to call into a leather goods shop called First Street Leather and being a gun nut (yep...even at 11 years old) this buckle caught my eye. My Dad kindly bought it for me and had it attached to a custom fitted leather belt which I wore every day for the rest of the holiday. Although this photo isn't of the original buckle, it was definitely this model and I even remember the snazzy box it came in. Just as a footnote, back in 2016 my eldest daughter and I went back over there and retraced the original route I'd done with my parents 35 years earlier! I managed to find the same leather goods shop and got photo of us stood outside and guess what...I can't find that either! That's a lovely buckle and even better when it comes with a back story, it's a great shame that you can't find it though. I've seen these for sale on US websites and they are really nice, but they do 'change hands' for good money especially if they've still got the original box.

Right then all you 'dirty ole gunslingers', who's got a nice shiny buckle for their 'rig'? Celebrating the 1828 Texas Rangers, complete with the inscription "A man in the right who keeps on a-coming" This has been worn, and is worn with a nice patina. It's approx 3½ inches across and 3 inches deep.

Well I've added a couple more buckles to the ol' collection, I just thought that I'd post them up. Once I get the opportunity I'll take some more pictures with the corresponding guns but for now......

Right I've moved over the whole thread (sans 'some comments about the sale' etc) and merged it with this one on Buckles, just for completeness and so my OCD will allow me to sleep at night, lol.
So get posting fellas, Guns 'n' buckles......

I managed to snag another one the other day and it was delivered to me today. A really old E. Remington & Sons brass buckle with a copper inlaid company monogram in the centre, a lovely piece, it'll look lovely in a picture with my 1875 Remington revolver....

The Sun came out this afternoon which would have been great for a spot of outdoor plinking but I was already committed to finishing off one of my (many) side projects..... Made a display box to fit an old picture frame I picked up from a charity shop a few weeks ago for £2, bought some green felt to deck it out and mounted some of my older belt buckles in it (2x Colt, a Remington and a Winchester). Banged it up on the wall above my cartridge collection, looks the bees knees !
