I don't think that I'll ever move onto electric guns, internally they'll be so different to the real steel that they wouldn't be a replica in my eyes, what with gearboxes, battery packs and that whirring sound with ever shot.....not for me I'm afraid !
Each to their own though and I have nothing against them being included on the forum, and if members bought them they fit right in with the guidelines for posting on this forum, so I'll be interested to see what the other members think to these.

That was my thought too. There are some really nice 6mm AEGs (I would love a Kriss vector) but I can't bring myself to get one for that very reason you state.

Looks AR15 enough to be included I guess (if you squint your eyes)!
Not shot an AEG before so I won't comment. Accurwcy-wise I expect a big improvement over co2 because of the FPS consistency between shots. Sadly no full auto for us, do that is kind of a bummer. Might be better off with AS just for that.
I'm keeping an open mind (not that I would buy one new). ๐๐ผ

Ar15 ones aren't going to work over here.
The V2 gearboxes lock up if used exclusively on semi and need a blast on full auto to unstick them. Not possible if you don't have full auto.

Stumble upon a video on one of these. Of course it's called something else in the US! "Sounds" weird as Shaun predicted. Normal for AS guys I guess. I didn't watch the whole video... just skipped to the shooting parts. I wonder why they can't simulate blowback with AEG. Or do they?

The main difference between AEG and CO2 powered replica guns is that the blowback with CO2 guns is actually part of the functioning of the gun (eg. like on a 1911 where the CO2 powers the slide out of battery, which cocks the gun and as the slide returns it loads a BB into the breech), whereas with AEGs it's electronically controlled trigger group so they don't have to function as an actual replica to work, ultimately they're just 'lookalikes' rather than a fully functional replica.

With co2, it's just using some of yhr gas to push the "bolt" or slide back. Mechanically one can probably do the same with AEG. I'm going to guess there's an issue with the power it might be able to generate, especially in full auto, with an electric motor and a spring.
Need to try one out to see if I like it I think.
