Does anyone have any experience of the Crosman 1077? ( Replica of Ruger 1022 - if you squint a bit ). I know they are supposed to be a good bit of fun, but is it a novelty that wears off quickly?

I've had a 1077 and it is great fun once you get used to the trigger. Like a lot of our replicas it is a revolver in disguise and the long trigger pull on a slide rather than a pivot is indexing the mag for the next shot. When you get the extra mags you will want they are a fraction of the price of Ruger mags.
I enjoy the ability to rapid fire:
I find it difficult to shoot well because the urge to shoot quickly nearly always wins!
The vid is free standing at 6 yards.
I use it to shoot some of the UBC comps (one of them needs 5 shots in 6 seconds) so it does get regular use.
Cheers Don

Thanks for that Don, I really must resist looking at things like this when I am supposed to be saving up for my lathe!

I've got one, I like it for what it is and I shoot it fairly often. It's accurate enough for plinking even with quite small targets, it's light, low powered enough for the garden or attic range, it's nice and point-able.
The trigger is a bit clunky and if the magazine isn't properly seated, pellets can be distorted but I haven't found this happen very often.
Be under no illusion, they are cheap, plastic, and not the kind of quality you get from other Crosman guns like the DPMS. They have been built to a budget, and very clearly so. But perfectly enjoyable. I enjoy shooting mine, and I'm very glad that I own one, and I won't ever sell it. I can't say much more than that really.

I had a Crosman 1077, they are OK but the Umarex Ruger 10/22 is far superior & more powerful.

I had a Crosman 1077, they are OK but the Umarex Ruger 10/22 is far superior & more powerful. I don't doubt that the Ruger is better but it is nearly twice the price and extra magazines seem to be about £14 each rather than 6 (JSR £6.39 for 3) or 3 from some suppliers for that price with the 1077. One magazine is never going to be enough!!
