Evening RAF,
Really quick one just to show the MPX that I purchased via the legendary RAF 'Bargain Basement' section here - co2-handguns.freeforums.net/thread/2267/sig-mpx-165-posted-bought
Slow delivery on this one but when I was speaking with the gent that sold it he made it perfectly clear up front that that would be the case due to work commitments, so fair do's. It arrived today and I have to say I am impressed - I wasn't expecting too much.
The overall condition is very good, little signs of usage and everything where it's supposed to be. I was fully aware of the issues reported around these models before purchasing this and so far there is only one minor issue. It came with a really nice scope (not in picture, will post later as it's going to live on my Canebrake), and a Best Fittings single CO2 adaptor which are really high quality and saves the fuss with the 88g bottles. A bit of a calculated gamble purchase as I reckon the magazine, scope and CO2 adaptor would fetch up to £100 if sold separately, so not a great loss if it fails after 6 months. It shoots well, cycles without issue. The minor issue seems to be with the cycling pawl inside the action, it has a looseness to it so if you tip the rifle forward and try to insert the magazine its really resistant to lock home, and the gun will not fire. Remove and tilt backwards, the magazine locks home fine and it cycles without issue. I will open it up and check on the spring for that, plus grease up the internal parts.
In this image I have put one of the Chinese rubber boots on the magazine. These have been recommended before, but I think it's already been pointed out by Wild Bill that they fit on these MPX/MCX magazines really badly! They offer up a nice picture but in reality they look and feel shite. Like putting a size 12 shoe on someone with size 8 feet and trying to find the toe! They fit really snug on the DPMS magazines, but they cover the BB loading port and are hard to slip back down. My advise would be to just avoid them!
Next job for this one is to find a cheap 1/2" UNF female silencer for it. I have a Best Fittings adaptor which I've already tested and works like a charm, just need to find a chunky silencer that fits the bill and isn't expensive!
