I thought about getting something like that for mine.....until I saw the price of them I do think that they do look so much better in one of those than in a more modern rifle case, nice one buddy

I like it Don. Proper injun tracker style. I'm not sure there were many injuns left to be tracked by 1894!

My stitching skills need to improved a lot before I would risk using real leather! I did think about using chamois leather to look more like buckskin but I wasn't sure whether anything would leach out and cause damage. You can get some quite big chamois leathers for about £7 on ebay. Cheers Don

I stand corrected. I thought subjugation was pretty much complete after the slaughter at Wounded Knee.
This encounter is interesting: "January 19, 1911: Washoe County, Nevada: The Last Massacre occurred; a group of Shoshones and Bannocks killed four ranchers; on February 26, 1911, eight of the Indians involved in the Last Massacre were killed by a posse in the Battle of Kelley Creek; the remaining four were captured" Was the massacre the 4 ranchers or the 8 Indians? I suspect the posse was probably rewarded for their efforts as Indians didn't count as people in those days.
