In the past I’ve damaged a couple of seals when putting in a capsule especially ii the seals were dry. When you tighten up the capsule it continues to rotate and with the pressure can damage tear the seal top surface. I put a little finger pressure on the cap to stop if turning while I tighten and always use a spot of pellgun oil. Just looked on line at a parts diagram and the capsule piercer you unscrew seems to have an O ring or seal but cant find one on mine, maybe dropped out? I’m not familiar with the MP40 mag but I’m sure there must be some on here who can tell you what the deal looks like. Usually green or white.

UPDATE
I have just inserted an empty C02 as the first one and then a full C02 as the second and it shot fine no leaks. So just did the opposite loading a full one first and an empty one second and yes it leaks. Meaning its leaking from the top end of the mag, so thats my last theory of a missing washer at the bottom wrong.

I always thought that the magazine became pressurized when one or both are pierced and would not have thought it would make a difference.

I looked at an AAR on air review of the MP40 and he mentioned that if you don't want to use 2 C02 capsules you dont have to as long as you put an empty one in with the full one and that gave me the idea of trying it to see what happens. I can only assume that the leak comes from the top of the magazine as when the full one is at the bottom it don't leak.
