UMAREX LEGENDS COWBOY RIFLE
I know they had to give this gun a name to so it wasn't confused with the Walther Winchesters that they make but I wish they had given this a better name (Frontier Rifle maybe?) but that is a minor gripe.
This is my latest acquisition and it is really satisfying:

These are sold as BB shooters but seem to work pretty well with pellets too.
As everyone probably knows these are shell loading and powered by two 12g CO2 capsules placed base to base in the carrier in the butt.
The button on the butt is pressed and turned to unlock the buttplate and the CO2 carrier is removed using the built in hex key.

The green ring is the seal for the CO2, there doesn't appear to be any seal for the individual capsules:

The other end that can be seen inside the butt looks exactly the same.
Shells with your choice of pellet or BB are loaded through the loading port on the right side of the gun (same as the real thing)

I've found getting the last shell all the way in is slightly difficult without a "pusher" (another shell) so you don't nip your finger.
Working the action
Action by Thorness, on Flickr
cocks the hammer
Hammer by Thorness, on Flickr
and feeds a round into the breech
Open breech by Thorness, on Flickr
for those who want it there is a manual safety catch behind the hammer that locks the action completely.
Working the action again ejects the "spent" shell and loads the next round.
The sights on the gun are a round brass bead fore-sight
Foresight by Thorness, on FlickrSharp end by Thorness, on Flickr
above the recessed muzzle
Muzzle by Thorness, on Flickr
and a buckhorn rear-sight
Original sight by Thorness, on Flickr
with a ramp for vertical adjustment
Sight ramp by Thorness, on Flickr
but no provision for lateral adjustment.
The gun is a pleasure to shoot, the trigger is crisp and it seems to be quite accurate, although due to the atrocious weather I've only been able to test it at short range so far.
This has however shown that it shoots quite a bit to the right so some sight modifications are in order.
It seems to splatter pellets well

Sight mods to follow.
Cheers
