Hi Shaun, re barrel size to the above question is yes. Is it a easy job to fit a air soft valve stem in the DW715 ? Regards Paul.

With the help of @headhunter. Stripped the action and fitted the 6mm airsoft valve. Few little niggles as I’m far far away from being a gunsmith but with the pictures and instruction al went well. Before the valve exchange my new DW715 was averaging 281 FPS with RWS MK 4.5 7g now after test and shooting a string it’s averaging 355 FPS a healthy increase of 74 FPS.

That's a big improvement Capt. My 715 figs of 322.8 340.8 33.2 fps with same pellet don't seem to be too bad. Not too keen on stripping the pistol, visions of tiny springs and screws popping out etc. Not sure, is it worth it ? Opinions please. Paul

Your FPS is well acceptable so I wouldn’t bother.

Paul I am getting an average of 351 fps with my 4" DW715, which means it's probably (from memory) shooting from 375 fps max down to 325 fps min. It's not too difficult to do but if you're unsure about doing it I'd give it a miss buddy. Power isn't everything, fun is more important, if it's accurate enough then just leave it Paul.
