Hi all
I'm Chris, a new joiner. Currently fighting an itch to buy a few new pistols.
Bought a couple of replicas a few years ago (Colt SAA, M92FS and Glock 17 Gen 4), but found I wasn't too comfortable shooting in the garden due to the noise, and not aware of anywhere suitable to go near me in South London.
That said, I do enjoy just owning the replicas but trying to decide if that is enough to justify buying a couple more! Particularly taken with the idea of a 1911 and a Makarov. A few more days looking at others collections on here and I might just cave!

Evening Chris, good to have you on board...I have the same concerns with my neighbours so the few guns I own are wall hangers. I'd rather be looking at them than looking at The Haywain etc...

Hi Chris , welcome a board. We love our 1911's. I have a few, here's my early collection, I've added a few more since.

Another beautiful set! I think the only thing stopping me at this stage is the limited versions available for home delivery. There's the latest Umarex antique version, which is a bit(!) overpriced but does look great. But then it's rotary mag rather than blowback etc. I like my 92FS rotary mag but would like to vary things a bit if possible. Looks like they have a Legends blowback version coming soon which may be worth considering. Outside of that I guess it's just a case of keeping an eye on Gunstar. If anyone's aware of other options please do let me know!

I too think that the Umarex model is overpriced, but some people will happily pay it for a , 'Limited Edition.' Those Umarex 1911 A1's do shoot well, but for me, a 1911 has to have blowback and field-strip like the original, so it's a Co2 and BB shooter all the way!

That's you all set now Chris, you've now got full access to the ' members only' sections (the 'Saloon' and the 'Bargain Basement'), feel free to have a 'mosey' around and post where ever you want. We're a friendly bunch of guys, so feel free to ask any questions you want and we'll do our very best to help you out. If you're wanting to post any photographs to the forum then your best bet is to have a picture hosting account with one of the many FREE websites that are available (Flickr, Postimage, imgbb, etc.), they'll give you a BBCode link to any of your pictures which you simply just 'paste' into your post. If you're needing any more information on posting pictures to the forum then go HEREAll that's left is to officially welcome you to the forum, so... Please be aware, this is STRICTLY a REPLICA airgun forum, We do not allow anything other than that on this forum apart from in the Saloon where you're free to speak about on any other topic. Please bear this in mind for all of your future posts, comments and threads. Any failure to follow this rule will lead to a warning, Jail time or even a permanent ban (and not necessarily in that order).

The Remington 1911 is a reasonably priced option KWC made pistol , 4.5mm bb , full blowback and field strippable yes is does have the garish white writing on it but so did mine (second pic down in my last post) you could always paint the slide black to hide it or age it like i have done. if there are no gun shops near then just keep your eyes out theres usually plenty of 1911s for sale on gunstar/guntrader just be careful of scammers

That could be a good option as I really like your weathered look. Just a question of whether I'd make a mess of it π
