Lovely photos FS. Can't say I'm into this version of the 1911, but your photos are on par with WB/Andy's effort. And looking at the parts, I wonder how many are interchangable with a real 1911. Certainly some of them looks like what I have in my GSG 1911 LBP. The leaf spring, the trigger shoe, the beaver tail... I am still keeping an eye out for a pre-loved KWC 1911 (mostly to take it apart!)... Thanks twodoctors I don’t know if the parts are interchangeable. I can tell you the 1911 was a very easy gun to strip down to it’s component parts and I imagine it will be as easy to reassemble. It’s still in bits at the moment until I can finish polishing it. |

As always, a great article and witty comments....we've all missed your style of writing and humorous nature, it's good to have you back on the forum ! Keep 'em coming buddy  As to the gun, I freely admit to skipping over it every time I've seen one for sale on a suppliers website but actually looking at your pictures I can honestly see the appeal, it's a 1911 BUT it's a very different looking 1911 and sometimes different is good. It was worth letting you out of jail just for this article alone, maybe I should 'pop' you back in there for a while to get the creative juices flowing again, lol  Only joking, welcome back buddy.....
Well I’m glad you like the article and I enjoyed writing it and I did actually save it for you all along. I just lost my house keys and I was too polite to climb through your window. You can stick me back in jail if you like I like it in there. I was hoping I’d be in there when I signed back into here yesterday. Everything I typed was true but what I didn’t mention was that I didn’t fully understand how narked people were with me until I read the jail comments a few days ago. Bearing that in mind, I was going to pop in here for fun and daftness, expecting to stay in jail and use my cowboy dialect to be the RAFs first proper jailbird. I had some jail songs lined up off YouTube as well! Well, I signed back in and then I felt like Dad had just discovered I’d been out for a ride in his car and dented a bumper. Opps. I’d been bad without meaning to be bad. So I binned the cowboy jail song idea and hastily scribbled my apology letter trying to remember what I did wrong.
Hokay, lots of waffle. I have to go. I have to saw up logs today with my big old chainsaw.
Ta for the welcome back. I’ll be good. Really I will. If I do start talking like a cowboy it’s not a pisstake, I just like doing it :/

In the end I just started calling myself names of his favourite TV characters so he’d remember me. I think you’ve forgotten my name too Headhunter. I told it you twice too lol. Maybe I was on a parallel universe AGF and there’s another Mag 7 and it wasn’t on this plain of existence at all or maybe I only dreamt it. Goodness knows I’m one for lucid dreams. I read the thread top to bottom and write and posted my previous comments before reaching this one. My name is definitely one of those three and I’ll answer to any one of them I really did enjoy the John Dorie profile. I could have sat in jail saying things like Git me out awf this jail eend ah'm goin' t' puh-lay this hair 'armonica until ya let me out But I’m being too silly again and I’ve even managed to derail my own thread. The same thing happened to me. I kept seeing the alluring photographs posted by same said members here and my brain told me I needed more guns. I tripled my collection in three months using excuses like “It’s lockdown, I can’t spend any money on holidays or going out to eat.” I found a channel for the extra savings … guns! |
