Taking about the American Civil War, a fascinating subject, here's a very rare piece. Remington rider DA from 1860. Designed by Joseph Rider and manufactured by Remington. Only 2000 made, initially a .31 percussion then later converted to fire .32 rimfire. This was one of the first double action revolvers to be made in quantity in the States. A fine example, valued between £500-£600. Another of my purchases last year. The 'Rider' patent was used on a lot of the early (patented in 1859) Remington DA revolvers, it's great to see one of these on this side of the pond buddy. Never seen one of these before, I wonder how it actually handles, a very short grip, especially with large hands. Thanks for sharing.😁

Nice pistols. I have my old replica labled as a Colt 1851 Navy. I'm not certain but I'm sure one of you guy's will be able to tell me. It looks very similar to the one above.

It is indeed an 1851 Navy and the cylinder would have been engraved with a scene of the victory of the Second Texas Navy at the Battle of Campeche (May 16, 1843).

I keep that one in a holster bought to try out gun spinning but I cannot get away with that. It's not as easy at it sounds. Practise, practise is the key to this. I cannot get it to stay on my finger.

I cannot get it to stay on my finger I had a very similar replica, got it for Christmas when I was a kid. Practiced for years with it, until I had it perfected. it now lives at Billy's ranch, as a wall hanger having been broken 30 years ago and badly repaired by your's truly.

I got the Colt Navy given free last year, but I never really knew what model it was or who made it....untill today. Having seen the photo in one of the posts I did a search and realised it was indeed a Colt Navy. I also found a seller with a indentical one for sale. It's an early Japanese model, must be from the 80's. He want £195 for it. His has the word Japan in front of the trigger guard, on mine it's been ground out. Here's a screen shot. You may recognise the page from a well known dealer. I've had lots of replicas, blank firer's and rifle's from him. Great chap to deal with . Without giving out name's his initials are GC. You may have dealt with him.
ps .I wonder if I should polish this replica like the above.
