Hi all,
I'll be selling my old Tokyo Marui M16A1 in the near future and was wondering what would be the most realistic M16A1 I could buy?
A quick search came up with the EMG Colt Licensed Historic Models M16A1.
Any thoughts/experience on this model?

Probably one of the most realistic available and get the model with the Ver 2 CYMA Platinum Gearbox Full Metal, Fully Upgradeable. There are other upgrades available including batteries.

It’s got to be a gas blow back, like headhunter said the electric guns don’t sound very good, great it you want high capacity mags for a skirmish game, but otherwise not very authentic when it comes to the shooting experience. The Marui MWS gas blow range are superb, great quality, work straight from the box, very upgradeable if you want, and very reliable.

But the Gas is only for handguns - or not? Or is there an M16A1 Co2?

Did a quick search and came up with M16A1 CO2 .177 4,5mmBB Air Rifle, DEFENSE FORCES Airgun
Shame it doesn't have the Colt markings. However, I don't think my wife would be happy if I spent €439 on one!
I might look out for some second hand ones here in Finland.
I'm a bit overwhelmed with the whole replica airsoft scene at the moment so will have to do more research.

That'll be your pension money gone then as they ain't cheap, you'd be better off emigrating to America and buying the real things ! I know that if I lived in the US (as a full citizen) I'd have a Ruger Wrangler (one of each, in every finish, in every grip style, lol) as $200 for a real live firing, real steel six shooter that you can plink away with .22LR and then swap out the cylinder to off load some .22 magnums to finish the session off sounds like rollicking good fun to me ! But then again I'd probably be skint after buying a new Colt Python, a secondhand Dan Wesson 715, A S&W Chiefs Special (for everyday carry), a Chiappa Rhino, a 1911, oh and a 2011, an old Colt Peacemaker (gotta be done)......the list is endless and so would the cost of ammunition to keep them all fed....Second thoughts ! I'll stick to airguns, lol

Some serious high end stuff there. I couldn't see any prices, which is always a bit worrying.

I have a .W.E tech Colt XM177 gbb carbine which I can never part with. I have aeg rifles and sub machuneguns but nothing comes close to a gbb gun. I must get it out and put a few photos up.

I'm kinda edging towards the GBB at the moment. I've yet to own my first one - so much to choose from! Although my wish list would include a Colt Peacemaker (or similar), Colt 1911, Dirty Harry Magnum and of course the M16A1. I prefer the classics rather than modern stuff.

Pics as promised of my W.E.Tech, Colt XM177, 6mm gbb carbine. This is the short version of the Colt M16, as used by special forces and the C.I.A. during the Vietnam conflict. Very accurate replica with good recoil kick. Pete.
