Hi, I am here by way of following the link from the new AGF. I see from my very short time here so far that there is a fair smattering of recognisable AGF member names that have an interest in the replica airgun world, some of whom may recognise my AGF forum name.
I am delighted to see that there is a dedicated forum for those of us that are interested in replica airguns, I know, from the old AGF, that there were a few members on there that had a dim view of this branch of the shooting world. I like collecting and shooting replica air pistols because it is a personal challenge and the closest I can now get to the types of fac guns that I used to have back in the early 90’s, I did have a firearms licence back then. I also like the mechanical excellence of the pistols that I owned back then, I used to love field stripping and cleaning after a range session.
I currently own a Gletcher Colt CLT 1911 bb pistol and an Umarex 1873 Colt SAA pellet pistol. I recently acquired a Baikal Makarov that has a T02 ***** serial number that makes it 2002 year manufacture (a 2nd generation I think). I bought a replacement barrel off of eBay for it, the new barrel has a 1/2” unf male thread at the muzzle end to accommodate a moderator, I have now fitted the barrel and tried it with a Peace Pipe mod and I think it cuts the muzzle report by quite a bit.
Anyway, I am glad to be here and I’m confident I will enjoy my time here and hopefully I can contribute to the forum in a positive way.

Welcome! I certainly enjoyed reading about your barrel swap. 😁 Never owned a Mak, handled a few at the Melbourne airgun fayres, but never took the plunge. Their loud reputation does appeal to me, so I would probably be the last person to fit a moderator to one! The louder the better as far as I am concerned, but then I shoot at an indoor range and not in the garden; too many twitchy neighbours that are too close... 😕

As for doing the barrel swap and fitting a mod, it was purely a personal choice because I do most of my Co2 plinking indoors and it keeps things just a bit quieter 😉

I will go and adjust your permissions and then you will be able to read and interact with the rest of the forum. And yes this forum was set up mainly because of the childish animosity shown by certain groups on the old AGF towards Replica airgun owners.

Hi WB, I am very happy to have been accepted to the RAF and will do my best to be a contributing member of the forum. I thank you for the adjustment to my access for the rest of the forum. As far as the attitude towards replica Co2 shooters on certain other forums I felt it was a shot (pardon the pun) in the foot of those forums.

You have some catching up to do buddy. Loads of great info on here. Loads of photos, good write ups and more. Enjoy the forum because we don't have or allow bad guys on here. They end up in the jail house or get hung sooner or later.

Cheers WB, I'm having fun already what with working out how to post photo's and registering with a hosting site (which seem a lot easier than they used to be). It might take me a little while to find my way around the forum and read up on some of the threads but I'll get there
