Asking for a friend (and I should probably invite him to the forum instead). He's looking for a 1911 CO2. He would prefer pellets, and I have loaned him my Umarex one to try.
Any recommendation for a BB version? I understand most are made my KWC, so technically they are all the same gun.
And has anyone have experience with other pellet-firing 1911?
Thanks.
Adrian

Can’t help your question but you are a brave man lending out guns. I learned the hard way a great many years ago and now the only time I allow someone to try one of mine is when I’m at the club and standing right beside them.

The Remington range of 1911 bb firers (RAC & TAC) are good guns, I've got two of them but as you say they're made by KWC so any that you choose are basically the same gun just with different finishes and slight changes to the frame and hammer (built in under barrel weaver/picatinny rail and commander hammer etc).

Me in real life is the same as my online persona... try to helpful if I could. He's a trusted club friend. I loaned him my SA10 once, and he lost one of my mag. Bought me a new replacement set. And when he found the one he lost, gave me that back as well. Is accuracy decent enough HeadHunter? The review I saw on Airgun Detective seems pretty good to me. I wonder whether it will fit a normal 1911 holster. We know the Umarex pellet doesn't!

My Remingtons easily fit into proper leather 1911 holsters, the magazine pouches need reshaping to get them to fit properly. The accuracy is good but nowhere near good enough for paper punching, I'd give them 10 out of 10 for tin can plinking but only 8 out of 10 for target work. Again, it's that replica realism factor where they score high for me.

Adrian As you mentioned previously twodoctors there isn’t yet a perfect replica yet, and its a sentiment I agree with. Personally I do like the KWC pistols and own two: The Remington 1911 The 1911 Tactical However despite your friend wanting a BB version I'd still recommend my own favourite 1911 pistol - the 1911A1 by Umarex. Reason being it’s the most accurate with its five inch rifled barrel and being a pellet firer: Just some thoughts of mine and as usual, it's any excuse to post some more gun porn

He prefers pellets, I recommended BBs... ...and if a BB version comes up for sale for silly money I would bite also. The Remington used to be £89 new back then... now they are £109 at NM Products. Still would get the Luger P08 over that, for now. I managed to break and fixed my Umarex 1911. I'll post that one when I get a chance. I'll let you know whether he agrees with me or you with regards to the Umarex 1911.

Whatever he ends up with if he’s anything like me he’s going to love it, the shooting, the targets, the whole experience. As for most people, me included, one is never enough. This time next year he’ll probably have an armoury of plinkin’ goodness.

Where do you get the Holsters for the 1911 Ebay is a good source for them, just got one myself from there last week that was only £5.99 ! But there are loads of places where you can buy a new one pretty cheaply.... pusatholster.com/collections/colt-gun-pistol-holsterTry these guys, they do ship to the UK. Just contact them first and tell them where you are and they'll sort out the shipping charges for you. They're bloody cheap for well made leather holsters too.

America Capt. why ? I've spoken to them before about shipping, from what I remember they seemed quite fair. I know that you would have to pay tax at customs but even then I think that they're reasonably priced good quality holsters.

That's a very fancy race gun version of the 1911, I really wish that I had a genuine reason for owning a race gun but I don't That's the main reason I never pulled the trigger on buying a KWC Tanfoglio limited custom or the full on race gun version, I never enter race gun comps', I'd rather just mess about with standard replicas. But we are all different, some people love that sort of thing, they're not for me though. But it's a really nice looking gun, very similar to one of my 1911s...
