I was trawling through ebay, as we all do from time to time and noticed one of those leather underlever covers for the Winnie. Personally I think that they're a great idea and for the money they want I don't think it's worth trying to make one yourself. I was surprised when it turned up as it does have some rather nice padding, 2x leather covers, 2x leather work needles and 2x very tough threads (one brown and one white). Ten minutes later and it was fitted... Looks like a studded leather collar those bondage girls wear when they're flogging the arse of some poor bloke who's just spent half his wages on such pleasures. Apparently. I wouldn't know personally. Just saying. From what I've seen on the telly like.

Fair play. No wonder you want to visit The Ranch! Yeah my Winnie goes with my 4 Colt SAAs, S&W Schofield and my gorgeous Remington 1875, why wouldn't I have a a Winchester ? Especially a shell loading, under lever, pellet firing carbine. In truth I should of bought it years ago but never got round to it, too many good looking revolvers about, lol.      |

It was an aged version to begin with but I've done a bit more to it, sometimes you need to go that extra yard to make a real difference. There was too many 'unweathered' parts when it came to me, the loading gate was like brand new so I sanded that down to age it a bit and then I took a couple of hammers to it (for dents & dings) and then set about wearing the finish down even more with some 2000 grit emery paper. I'm toying with the idea of getting the wood replacement kit for the furniture (stock and fore end),as I think that will make it look superb, but I've got to see what happens at the BSS on Friday first as I've got the feeling that I may well come home with more than just the two guns I'm already picking up at the show before committing to the Winnie wood kit first, lol. |
