There was a black 4" model on Guntrader last week for £100, but it was sold by the time I had pasted the link into the bargains section. 😖The silver ones do surface every now & again on the secondhand market, 6's are the most common version that I seem to see. I'll keep an eye open for one for you buddy. I picked up a silver 6" for £80 (boxed and complete) last month from a RFD in Kent while I was visiting my Son, that went to ERIC D as he had been after one for ages, I had previously found him a black 4" Python last year (again, boxed and complete) for £70 on Gunstar/GunTrader (I can't remember which), I sent him the link for that one and he snapped that up and he had been wanting a silver 6" ever since, lol. So they do pop up buddy, don't despair, the forum will track one down for you Amazing, thank you! I’ll start spending some proper time on gun trader too, see if I can find anything

Wow. That's a great thing to do. Nice one lads. And the Remmy 1911 is a good one too. You are both very nice people.

I had another opportunity to have a 'Plink with the Pythons' today, they're so much more fun. Unfortunately I didn't get outside to do any 10m shooting but I had a real good go at shooting my 4" at my 30mm round moving targets at 5m, it managed to get 18 consecutive hits at one point and it would only really miss once out of six shots at the very most.
Very happy with the results of the barrel change, even on paper targets the 4" was giving the smallest groups that I've ever fired with it and the accuracy was pinpoint too, a headshot on a terrorist target ended up as one shot between the eyes which I repeated again with a fresh target ! And going for the 'heart' shot on the same target saw four of the remaining five shots in the heart. None of this was done rested, all were shot with double handed grip.
I didn't think that I could love my replica Colt Pythons any more than I already do but I was wrong, in fact it reminded me so much of why I loved my full bore Colt Python back in the day, I used to load it up with my hand loaded .38 spl and do target practise on the rifle range with it, consistently hitting a coke can at 50yds, admittedly mine was the 'Target' version which had an 8" barrel.
The Colt Python is one of my favourite handguns of all time and this replica now goes along way to reminding me of the real steel version's shootability and overall look & feel, the action may not be any where as slick as the real Python but considering the replica costs 1/15th of the real handgun's current price tag and is unobtainable in this country, then I'm very happy, very happy indeed to have these replicas in my collection.

I finally managed to test the new barrel out on the Python 6" today at 10m, very happy with the accuracy, very happy indeed These were the very first groups of 6 from the old girl ! Thanks again to Mark ( Modski66) for this fabulous upgrade to my gun, the big stupid grin I had on my face once I saw the first target results was absolutely 'priceless'. So is swapping the smoothbore inner barrel out for a rifled version worth it ? HELL YES !
