Renaissance wax I've been trying out this wax as an after care product for the guns in my collection. I first discovered it whilst watching multiple youtube videos on real steel gun care (mainly for gun collectors rather than shooters) and found that a lot of guys use it to successfully restore the faded blueing on their guns, so I thought that I'd give it a try. The 'blurb' on the tin states that it was manufactured for the British Museum as an 'all-in-one' protective coating that does no harm to the original item, it can be used on paintings, wood, ceramics, metal (etc.), dries instantly and leaves the item with a soft sheen. A couple of the best points for me are that there is no wax build up that needs to be removed after a while, as every time you use it you remove the previous layer with the solvents in the wax ! And the other good point is that once coated it doesn't leave finger prints ! Which is great for the silver 'finger print magnet' guns in my collection. I've also bought it to use on my 1911 which is in need of another polish and as they say that it can stop tarnishing so I'm looking forward to giving it a try, hopefully it'll keep the gun in a bright finish rather than the dull lack lustre one it has now but only time will tell on that score. I can thoroughly attest to the fact that it is a brilliant product, I've used it on my DW715s (all three barrel lengths), my silver Colt Pythons (6" & 4") and even tried it on my weathered Nagant, which turned out to absolutely stunning once it was done as it deepened the darker colour aspect of it and gave it more of a steely metallic look to it. It does stop finger prints marks from being left on the gun and leaves a beautiful sheen on the gun too. Plus I needed it for my knife collection as it supposedly stops metals from tarnishing once you've used the wax on it and a few of my knives have brass fixings and or handles, it worked incredibly well on one of my restored WWI bayonets too. So the stuff has got a few good uses, not just for our CO2 replicas but for other things as well. Just don't do what I did and buy a 200ml pot of it ! I thought that I was being clever and would eventually need all of that, only if I live for about another 300 years, lol, so a 65ml pot is more than enough for our needs. You can get hold of it from various sellers on ebay and it's not expensive and worth every penny.

I am going to give it a go, from where I have been looking its only a bit more money to get the 200 size so might get that and give some to range mates, unless anyone knows cheaper small sizes.

I only used it on it's own so I don't know if you'd be better removing the previous finish first.

It only seems to come in the 65ml or 200ml size from what I could see. 200ml is absolutely loads though as you only use it 'sparingly' according to the instructions and a little does seem to go a long way tbh.

On your recommendation I purchased some only used it on my SAA and DW 715 and I must say its great. After buffing up I can hold the DW 715 without leaving any finger prints. Looking forward to giving all my pistols and rifles a go with it.
