Great write up HeadHunter , looks great with the mod (better than I expected/hoped) and glad to see it actually tightened up the groups. Is the stock a standard buffer tube type set-up and thus replaceable with anything you want, or is it bespoke to the gun? Haven't managed to find time to trim the grip to fit yet, a bit tied up with things I'd rather not be doing in recent weeks, but I'll post you some pics when I do 👍

I've got to make a flat sling ring to go between the stock and the frame for my single point harness to attach to. The stock in itself is far better than I thought that it would be, very solidly locks into position and feels well joined to the gun, I actually quite like it now, which is a shock because it's one of the reasons that I was so hesitant about getting one in the first place.

It is mint on the surface though

Evening all I received my DPMS SBR a couple of days ago and am posting a general overview opinion of my initial impressions. I wont be doing a review as HeadHunter has already nailed it in his within this subsection. As many on here are aware, I have a pretty decent collection of replica guns. The 'AR' style has never really tickeled my fancy, mainly because when a package arrives at the door and I show the Mrs a nice WW2 replica she tends to look the other way. Over the past year or so though, she has essentially given up with trying to moderate my purchases. Im very proud of that achievement, as I no longer fear at the postman knocking when shes home. 6-12 months ago I would never have got away with brandishing a rifle that is all over the news from the US every few weeks. So blocker aside, this rifle rocked up at the door 2 days ago and was unfortunetly missing a piece from the order. The seller has pure ignored me since so I'm getting bugger all back, but based on what I've receicved I just dont care. This rifle on opening the box gave me excitment I've not felt since being a kid. It's a proper 'army soldier man' gun as my 5 year old boy would say. The materials and build are superb, but it comes to life for me when customising. I've accrued a lot of toys over the years, and a lot of them of 20mm weaver setup so I've been able to mess about with this one to my hearts content. I still want a proper laser with a pressure plate but I've played with a lot of the stuff I have that fits and it just a joy to mess with. I've not been able to performance test this yet, but in all honesty it could spit the BBs over a 10cm spread at 5m and I'd still love it. I've currently got the red dot fitted it came with (not the best so open to suggestions), supplied flip ups and a bipod I had spare. Got a mock silencer on the way but really want to get a laser with pressure pad on it just for the fun of it. This thing is all about fun, and it's tickled me like no other replica I've bought so far If you get chance to buy one cheap, take it if it's your cup of tea!

Congrats with purchase, it's a good replica in my opinion. First of all it's has a feel of a real AR-15 - you can even field strip it as a real one. And my DPMS is surprisingly accurate for a BB gun, I just wish I'd bought a couple more magazines for it instead of spare extended capacity 300 BBs one. But regular magazines seems to be out of stock everywhere. Additional bonus is that you can load it with just one C02 cartridge if you want shorter shooting session. Maybe I'll get a short Bushmaster version in the summer for camping trips. If of course I still have job and still can drive my truck long distances by the summer.

I totally understand the 'joy' of ownership when it comes to the DPMS, I really do ! It's not until you've got one in your hands that you really appreciate it and to think that I ummed & arghed over getting one for so long, I should've just stopped procrastinating and just bought one when they first came out. It's just so solid, so well made and absolutely gorgeous.
The amount of customisation that any owner can do to their DPMS is amazing and makes it such a personal gun in my opinion, what with red dots, holographics, scopes, lasers, torches, foregrips, bipods, magwell grips, pistol grips and that's even before you start to think about the sling options (1 point, 2 point or even 3 point slings) and the variety of positions that you can attach them to.
The AR is incredibly versatile platform and allows the owner to make their gun so uniquely specific to them, their needs and their shooting style, it's a keeper for me and makes every other replica rifle just seem so, well.....meh ! by comparison.
In a world of replicas, where straight out of the box, everything seems the same, it's great to have the potential to make each gun so very different, I've striven to make all of my handgun replicas unique to me, different from the bog standard, straight out of the box versions and this gun makes that so very easy to do.
Love mine, wouldn't sell it, lots of fun, what more could you ever want ?
(you just wait till you get a good chance to throw some BBs down range with it, you think you like it now ! Just be prepared to fall 'head over heels' in love with it, lol)

Is this the M4 - AR15 lookalike? Been looking at them and its on my list but are they worth the list price Crosman made the DPMS but have since replaced it with the newer R1 version, which is identical internally but just in a different set of clothes. They are expensive (£295-ish) but if you look around you can pick one up 2nd hand DPMS for around the £150-£180 and there's nothing better than giving a good home to a pre-loved gun that's just collecting dust some where. Don't make the same mistake I made and over think it, set a price target (eg. £150) and keep an eye out for one and jump at it with both feet when it comes along, I guarantee that you won't regret it

Is this the M4 - AR15 lookalike? Been looking at them and its on my list but are they worth the list price I don't think it's exactly the M4, it's more like a replica of Panther Arms AR-15 platform rifle. Ar-15 is highly customizable platform so there are tons of different looking AR-15 rifles. I think Crosman has something like this as a prototype: www.d4guns.com/product/dpms-panther-arms-a-15-5-56-nato/ . As far as I can see - for R1 version Crosman replaced DPMS PA stock with a standard military AR-15 stock which most of the people hate but it's easy to replace to any custom AR-15 stock. Actually I was going to buy R1, but DPMS went on sale so I couldn't resist the price, I think it was about $200 CAD. For that money it's totally worth it.
