Amazingly, I just threw a portable DVD player and a Technics hifi system, a toshiba dolby digital surround system and an old PC that had a dvd drive and a dvd writer drive away (well the local skip actually). They had been sitting in my garage doing nothing for a few years. I also dumped a 1080p cinema projector and widescreen projector screen. We have had a bit of a clear out this last wee while we had new flooring layed, a new roof on the conservatory and new carpets etc. I can't even remember the last time I watched a DVD or Bluray to be honest, it must be about 5 or 6 years ago at least. We took about 200 DVD movies to the charity shop too. I watch all my movies by streaming these days on one of the 6 smart 4k tv's we have in the house. My PC has a an external solid state drive with about 400 movies on if we need them. We haven't even got a radio in the house now. How times change as technology moves on eh? Do you use Plex home media server mate? Game changer for me No James. I don't use Plex. My PC is my media server and it shows up on my smart tv's as a media server.

I have a habit of buying things and never letting go of anything. The hoarding instinct.......7 laptops, 5 pc's, 10 drones, 38 pistols and counting. PDA's, Tablets, SatNavs the latest being portable DVD players, just cannot help buying or getting things given.
2nd row from the left, 6th pistol down...is that a jackal/phoenix arms/Sussex Armoury blank firer I spy? 🔎🤔

Fortunately I wasn't into Betamax as I would probably still have a player. I do have 2 VHS recorders left. There linked to a HDD recorder . I have put quite a few VHS tapes onto DVD's for people. I used to get asked to put 35mm slides on to DVD's too ..........a slide show for people who's parents have died. So, some of the old stuff still comes in handy. One member nailed when they said about things left if there is a death. I've being told this for ages. My loft is full ......CCTV cameras , recorders , you name it and I will have it. It's going to be a nightmare after I go.

It sounds good but I really don't know what it could do for me that I already don't have? It is basically a media server? Windows 11 already allows that.

Funny you should say that Modski! I have a 1949 Bush Bakelite Television and the dealer I bought it off told me if I plugged a Weetabix...sorry, Betamax or one of the first Video recorders with the 'piano keys' into it, I could play videos on it. I had thought of playing Pathe' News Reels on it but never did get round to it. But; The photo shoots/TV and filming I've had here wouldn't have allowed it anyway due to Copyright. Attachments:

It sounds good but I really don't know what it could do for me that I already don't have? It is basically a media server? Windows 11 already allows that. It's the organisation and client access that makes it special mate. You basically just point it at your TV and movies folders on the PC and it does everything else for you. Series details, images, actors etc. Also there are clients for it on every device you can think of so can watch your stuff out of the house as long as the main PC/server is on. I started with the free version of the server, so might be worth a try if you're ever at a loose end. The server runs on your PC, and it wont change the way you are currently using media server so no risk of ruining your setup etc.

When I returned to the hobby this time there were a couple of gaps where I’d moved stuff on then remembered why I liked them in the first place… as well as pursuing a fresh direction.
The first was the Webley MKVI (btw do the bb version take pellet shells? Any good?). I think a chap needs at least one version of this.
The second was the Umarex 84fs. I recently bought one off Doyley83 on here and was considering letting it go. I put some gas in this morning and it put a smile on my face so it’s staying. Close shave!
The third was the Colt SAA in Nickel. So glad to have that one back in the fold!
There are some that I don’t miss but those are other folks’ faves so horses for courses. If it was a gift it stays. If someone shot with me and enjoyed it, it stays.
Lastly childhood memories. I had a Record Jumbo .177 pistol when I was about 15 - loved it! I see them up for sale from time to time and I’m always tempted. 😀

I do wish I hadn't got rid of this one: And my two pellet firing Glocks. These were such a pleasure to plink with.

Still regret selling this beauty, I'm in the process of replacing it though...anyone know a good engraver? 🤔

This replacement arrived today - very pleased. In bb but I just popped the asg pellet shells in there and I was v impressed! For someone concentrating on compacts and snubbies this is a bit of an outlier 🙈 suffering from GAS? (Gun Acquisition Syndrome) Seriously though I’m happy to have this back in the fold - a Gun Trader find at £135.
